Dinner Meeting Presentation Abstract

A case study of Tier One company’s new product development program with $ 10 million capital investment of their transformation from poor time to market to best launch in company history. This Tier One company developed a four continent new product launch encompassing HQ/ Product Engineering & Technical Center and four outlying manufacturing plants requiring an accelerated launch cycle. Previous experience had produced unacceptable time to market of 42 to 60 months using the company Stage Gate process with the quality APQP milestones to deliver major product launches.

Presentation will focus on a work management/ project management solution that encompassed six cross functional areas: program management, product engineering, test engineering, manufacturing engineering and plant production launch. A work management capability integrating resources and schedule and quality milestones in an ease of use manner allowing project manager to successfully target and deliver 100% on time 31 months launch. The resulting 26% new product time to market improvement produced the best product launch in company history and the work management/ project management capability was accomplished in five elapsed months at the initiation phase of the product development life cycle.
