Presentation Abstract: Project Failures and Successes
By: Don Gottwald

Forum Presentation Abstract

The purpose of this presentation is to examine major project successes and failures from the perspective of what went right and what went wrong and why we haven't been able to consistently apply lessons learned to improve the percentage of projects that are successful in terms of the triple constraint. The discussion will center on what factors might have been missed in planning, execution, and monitoring and control of these projects. Additionally, the objective will be to develop some potential research questions that could provide lead to better approaches for future project success. The intent is to develop a pool of potential research topics to be made available to Ph.D. students and researchers in Project Management to pursue in completing their dissertation and for potential publication in Project Management Journals.
