When should I take the class? |
First obtain the certification handbook from
www.pmi.org and
make sure you're eligible to take the exam. It's
best to study the PMBOK Guide (also available
from www.pmi.org) and then determine if you feel
the need for hands-on instruction. If you do,
you can take our class, or you can take a class
from any number of private companies. In any event,
it's best to time the exam for right after your
last class.
| |
Are we given the exam at the end of the class? |
No. No education provider can give you the exam.
You apply to PMI for permission to take the exam,
then once you receive their written permission,
you schedule the exam with Prometric Testing Centers.
The exam can be scheduled any day they have a
seat available.

What material does GLC's Exam Review cover?
We cover the nine knowledge area as listed in
the PMBOK Guide, and the extra module, Professional
Responsibility.

Who teaches PMI-GLC’s classes? |
Our instructors are all members of Great Lakes
Chapter, and all are PMI certified. Many are professional
instructors. They are paid a token amount for
this service to the PM community.

I would like to teach for PMI-GLC, what do I do? |
Send a note to the current VP
Professional Development, whose e-mail address
is on the "Contact
Us" page at www.pmiglc.org, and that
officer will give you further instructions.
| |
If I take the class, and fail the test, do I
get a refund or can I retake the class free?
No. The class comes with no warranty of any kind
and is meant as a study aid, nothing further.
| |
Do I have to take this class in order to take
the exam?
No. PMI requires that any applicant for the PMP
Exam must have 35 hours of project management
education. Our class fulfills that requirement,
but there are many other courses in PM offered
by a variety of universities, colleges and private
companies that could also fulfill the education
requirement.
| |
Is a class ever cancelled? |
IIf we do not have at least ten students enroll
in a six-week session, we will cancel the entire
session and refund all tuition paid. If our host
institution cancels classes for bad weather on
a day our class is scheduled, we have to cancel
that day. If that happens, we will reschedule
the "lost" day at a day and time acceptable
to the instructor and to as many students as possible.

do I do? |

for the correct and current e-mail address). The
VP Professional
Development will answer individual questions
and consider them for posting to this list in
