Educate PM on nuances of adopting ITIL best practices

Andy Desai is currently an Engagement Principal
with Hewlett-Packard responsible for architecting
global solutions to complex client requirements
to streamline their IT environments. Andy accepted
this position after leading a PMO Ma for General
Motor Corporation's server hosting outsourcing
engagement. During his tenure, Andy helped implement
ITIL best practices and matured delivery efficiencies.
His teams successfully implemented over 300 projects
in 30 months.
Andy is also an adjunct professor with Lawrence
Technological University, School of Management
at Southfield, Michigan. Andy Graduated in Engineering
from Manipal Institute of Technology (MIT), India
with major in Chemical Engineering. He completed
his MBA from LTU Michigan. Andy also holds PMP
certification and Manager's certification in ITIL.
Andy has held positions on board of PMIGLC as
Chair for succession planning and itSMF Great
Lakes Local Interest Group as Governance Chair.
Rao Tilak is President of itSMF GLLIG. Rao is
working with EDS in leadership position for ESM
Service Transition.
Rao Tilak has more than 29 years of experience,
including the last 23 in Information Technology,
supporting clients in the Automotive Industry
and Federal Government. He has extensive experience
in Program/Project Management and Systems Delivery.
He is ITIL Service Manager Certified, ITIL ICTIM
Manager Certified, and a PMI certified PMP. Rao
provided program management to systems development,
implementation, and operations in the areas of
Manufacturing, Engineering, CAD/CAM, and Product
Data Management (PDM). He managed service delivery
for mission-critical applications to meet established
contractual service level metrics. Recently Rao
provided leadership to the deployment of Enterprise
Service Management an internal EDS Program based
on ITIL for improving service delivery to GM.
Rao was a speaker at industry and customer sponsored
events and traveled extensively to Europe, Japan,
Brazil, and Australia for consulting engagements.
He has experience in serving on Industry Organization
boards.
Rao has a Bachelor of Engineering from Karnatak
University in India and a Master of Science in
Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering from Rutgers
University in New Brunswick, New Jersey. He received
his PMP Certification in December of 2000. Rao
has been a member of PMI since August of 2000.
and a member of PMI GLC since 2002. Currently
Rao is serving on the itSMF GLLIG Board .
Rao and his family reside in Rochester Hills,
Michigan.
