Earn PDUs
Participation in the Community Outreach Committee is by
itself an extremely rewarding professional and personal experience.
In addition, participation offers a chance for PMPs to earn
professional development units (PDU) towards maintenance
of their certification.
The Great Lakes Chapter has endorsed four opportunities
to earn PDUs within the following categories:
- Category 2:
- One (1) PDU for each hour devoted to Community
Outreach meetings.
- Ten (10) PDUs per New Program- Develop content
for workshop, seminar or other structured learning
program.
- Ten (10) PDUs per Activity- Present project management
topic at a workshop or seminar. (PDUs earned for
initial delivery only. PDUs are not earned for repetitive
deliver of the same activity.)
- Category 5:
- Five (5) PDUs per year- Serve as a committee member
in a project management association.
Let's look at the PDUs earned during an average 6-month
commitment:
|
Community Outreach meetings |
Weekly, 1.5-hours |
30 PDUs |
|
New program development |
Qty. 1 |
10 PDUs |
|
Present project management topic |
Qty. 1 |
10 PDUs |
It's plain to see that you can easily earn the majority
of PMI's 60-PDU recertification requirement (within 3 years)
in a short period of time- and the return to the community
on the investment of your time is priceless.
Feel free to contact the committee for more information.
The committee and community look forward to your participation!
