PMI Great Lakes Chapter 2008 Spring Symposium

PMI GLC is proud to present our Seventh Annual Spring Symposium on April 23rd, 2008 at the Best Western Inn in Sterling Heights, Michigan, located 15 miles north of Detroit.

This years event, entitled "Diversity: A Successful Approach", offers an exciting agenda featuring two renowned keynote speakers, three breakout sessions, and poster presentations. The event starts at 7 AM so breakfast, lunch, and all day refreshments are included.

The morning session will be kicked off with a remarkable presentation on "Diversity in Project Management, Does it Really Matter???" by our first keynote speaker, Hugh Woodward. Mr. Woodward is the recipient of the PMI Fellow Award in 2005.

The afternoon session opens with our second keynote speaker, Yogen Rahangdale, the Vice Chairman of American Axle and Manufacturing. His address is on "Diversity: A Successful Approach". Mr. Rahangdale's real life examples from American Axle Manufacturing's history will illustrate how diversification ensures sustainability and profitable growth.

Breakout sessions will follow both keynote addresses. Attendees will be able to choose from a vast array of 12 topics featuring 15 scheduled speakers on diversification that range from intermediate to advanced levels. Poster presentations will be delivered by local members who are encouraged to share information that aligns with project practices as defined in the PMBOK Guide.

Sponsors help support each year's Spring Symposium with representatives from educational institutions, human resource providers, and project management software and support products.

The Symposium provides many opportunities to network, listen, and learn that will make this year's annual event an enjoyable day to remember.

Symposium Committee, headed by Jan Kobak, would like to extend heartfelt thanks in advance to the symposium team volunteers, PMI GLC directors, sponsors, speakers and attendees for making this years spring symposium a success as it has been in past years.

Registration and details on the day's events including each individual session are located at the PMI-GLC website - http://www.pmiglc.org/pd/2008symposium/index.html
