From: "PMI Great Lakes Chapter" To: Subject: [PMI-GLC] July/August newsletter Date: Saturday, July 28, 2007 8:33 AM July 2007 PMI- Great Lakes Chapter Newsletter Newsletter Editor: Danny Miller ---------------------------------------- PMI-GLC President’s Mid-Year Progress Report ---------------------------------------- Dear Members: For 2007 the activities most visible to members are those accomplished by Programs, Professional Development and Communications Committees, which include: the very successful Annual Symposium, dinner meetings, Forums, Seminars and PMP Review courses offered throughout the Detroit Metro area. The frequency, media, and promotional content about these events have been improved on the Website, in the Newsletter and through special announcements. Chapter operations have been improved by volunteers in Outreach, Finance, Membership and Administration Committees. They have actively promoted project management, formed affiliations with other professional organizations, improved organizational and financial/accounting processes, and continued to obtain member feedback through various surveys. The Office of the President proposed Bylaw revisions which were recently approved by members with a 97% favorable vote. Revisions provide for improved legal protection for volunteers and improvements in the Executive Committee succession plan implemented during 2006. Similar improvements are being planned during 2007 for Director succession. Other improvements made by the Executive Committee include defined (documented) processes that lead to industry recognized Maturity Level-3, which will enable sustainable operations, continuity for succession and most importantly, continued improvement in services to members. Stay tuned for upcoming events, such as the Open House (8/22), resumed dinner meetings and Forums (9/10), Golf Outing (9/22), PMP Prep classes (9/22), and more Seminars (11/1).
