It's a busy time of year
for us at the Great Lakes Chapter and we want to take
this opportunity to keep
you informed.
First of all, please join us in congratulating Suketu
Nagrecha on his election to President for the
2006 Board Year. We had two excellent candidates in Suketu
and Rick Ferguson, and Suketu was
the Executive Committee's choice. Wish him the best of
luck and success in 2006. Our current
President, Kent Jennings, automatically will continue
to serve the Board as Past President.
The election for Vice President positions, of which
there are seven, is coming up. We will be
posting the candidates information on our web site in
the next few days. The election is
held on-line and the instructions will be sent via e-mail
to each member in good standing.
If you are seeking PMP certification, you might want
to know that our Professional Development
committee, headed by Don Blouin, will once again be offering
the Chapter's popular PMP Review,
a six week session focused on getting you prepared for
the recently-updated exam. The new
session runs on Saturdays beginning October 8 at Madonna
University in Livonia. To find out
more or to register go to our website's PMP
Review
Page.
Our next dinner meeting, on Monday, October 10, will
feature a presentation by Lee Lambert. You
can find out about the presentation and register
for the meeting
on the website.
Beginning in 2006 we will hold
some dinner meetings in different locations around town
to better serve the diverse needs of our
members.
If you already have your PMP certification, let the
Great Lakes Chapter help you earn the PDU credits
you need for recertification! We have professional
development days coming up in the next
few weeks and you can find out about those on the
PDD page of the chapter website.
You can also earn PDU credits and help the chapter by
writing articles for this newsletter! We
welcome articles about your projects, project management
in general, activites that might be of
interest to our members, etc. If you would like to write
an article for consideration for publication,
send it via electronic mail to our Director
of Advertising
and Newsletter, currently Arun Vinod Das.
Have a great month, we'll see you at the dinner meeting,
and please remember to vote for our
new Executive Committee.
