Fellow Project Managers,
We are pleased to provide you with this, our latest
Great Lakes Chapter newsletter. We will be considering
new formats for this important mode of communication
in the future; I welcome your comments and suggestions
on that. This is one of many changes we are considering
as we try to move up the OPM3 chain as a chapter. With
over 2,000 members and as one of the ten largest chapters
worldwide, we consider this a reasonable time to be taking
such steps. You will hear a lot more about this
from us in the near future.
For those of you who do not yet hold the PMP credential,
be aware that PMI is changing the examination to align
it with the changes recently made to the PMBOK Guide®. If
you would like to take the exam as it stands today, aligned
with the 2000 Edition of the PMBOK Guide®, you must
apply for the examination by August 29 and sit for it
before September 25. Anyone applying after August
29 will take, after September 30, the new exam. The
currently running session of our Chapter's PMP Exam Review
is the last that will use the old version as its basis.
Thank you to everyone who attended our very successful
Symposium at the Sterling Inn, and to all our volunteers,
presenters and sponsors who put it together and made
it happen. We have professional development days
and monthly dinner meeting presentations as well to help
you educate yourself and earn the necessary credits to
maintain your certification.
