PMIGLC Sponsors “Best Project Plan” Award for 2018 Michigan Regional - Future City Competition

Future City is a cross-curricular educational program where students in 6th, 7th and 8th grades imagine, design, and build cities of the future. Over four months, students work as a team with an educator and volunteer mentor to design a virtual city using SimCity software; research and write an essay addressing this year’s theme; build a model of their city using recycled materials; write a brief narrative promoting their city; and present their city before a panel of judges at a Regional Competition in January. Regional winners go on to represent their region at the national competition in Washington, DC, in February. Read the complete article.

Welcome Message from the New PMIGLC President

Happy New Year PMIGLC members! I’m Ron Papa and I am the incoming Chapter President for 2018.

First, I’d like wish all of you good health, good times, and prosperity in this new year. Second, I want to encourage you to take advantage of the exciting events and benefits that the chapter plans to offer its members. Everything from more locations to exciting speakers and a new variety of events, including more networking opportunities are planned.

Make a resolution to attend at least one event this year and hopefully you’ll keep coming back for more. Please feel free to bring a friend or co-worker. Also, be sure to inquire with any of our Board of Directors or myself on some of the discounts that PMIGLC can offer to those who are considering joining.

I look forward to seeing you at a PMIGLC event very soon!

Here’s to a successful new year.
