Great Lakes Chapter Publishing Guidelines

As a member of the PMI Great Lakes Chapter, you will receive notification of the monthly electronic newsletter, Baseline News. It contains information about upcoming chapter and national events, as well as feature stories about practical project management, contributed by members or reprinted from the national publications published by PMI.

Earn PDUs!

Writing articles for Baseline News is a great opportunity to earn points toward certification, or for maintaining certification. Articles published in the Baseline News can be submitted for re-certification under Category 2.

  • The category someone should use for writing a newsletter article is category 2SDL ("self directed learning"). The number of credits is 1 per hour of research.
  • There is a limit of 15 category 2SDL PDU credits per 3-year cycle.

For even more certification points, articles can be submitted to international, national, and regional publications. See Table 3 in the Certification & Standards booklet or check out that section of the national PMI Web Site .

Download our Article Guidelines in a Word doc for content and format information. Contact the VP Communications for deadlines, ideas, and other information.
