Roles & Responsibilities
Director of Academic Outreach
- Lead committee
- Recruit / retain / support / recognize volunteers
- Organize / coordinate committee efforts
- Make assignments and follow-up to closure (Delegate
as appropriate, don't try to do everything yourself!)
- Define / refine high level objectives for committee
- Coordinate with VP of Outreach
- Collaborate with other Outreach Directors
- Align to chapter's strategic objectives
- Determine / align to stakeholder's interests
- Develop / maintain plan to accomplish high level
objectives
- Maintain involvement in PMI GLC Board of Directors
and contribute to development of policies and procedures
- Execute / Monitor activities to accomplish high level
objectives
- Setup monitoring and control process
- Provide high level status to VP Outreach on a monthly
basis.
- General Committee Management
- Maintain committee records / institutional history
- Define and document common processes / procedures
/ tasks
- Maintain contact lists of stakeholders. Treat this
list as confidential when needed.
- Maintain web page up to date
- Academic Outreach
- Identify local colleges and universities that have
a project management curriculum.
- Develop / maintain relationships in order to:
- Make institution aware of PMI
- Make institution aware of PMP and REP
- Offer to review project management curriculum for
conformance to PMI standards.
- Determine what additional services can be provided
to academic institutions from the chapter or committee.
