President - Kulveer Virk, M.Eng., PMP
|
|
Kulveer is Senior Project Manager working for Ford Motor Co. His previous experiences include consulting, medical, engineering, city government, etc. Kulveer is actively involved in PMIGLC since 2006. He holds Masters degree in Environmental Engineering. Kulveer has nearly 15 years of experience in project management, strategic planning, and business process reengineering, operations and software development. During his tenure, Kulveer has been instrumental in implementing solutions to cut cost, redesign services, and embracing social media. He lives with his wife and two children in Windsor, Ontario. Past President - Mira Kukla, PMP

|
Mira Kukla , PMP, is a Project Analyst Senior/Project Manager, with HP. She has performed project/program roles: including Project/Program Manager, Project/Program Control Office Management and Support, and Trainer/Mentor on numerous large strategic client initiatives. She possesses a working knowledge of program and project management methods and tools, scheduling, developing processes, and change management standards. Mira is a PMI Member since 1995 and passed her PMP certification in April 2000. Ms. Kukla previously served the PMI GLC Board as President Elect, VP of Administration for two terms, and as Director of Volunteer Programs prior to that. From those experiences she has gained an increased knowledge of project management and insight into the leadership and structure of PMI. As President, her vision is to continue to build a quality organization where people come to expand their learning capabilities through sharing ideas and experiences about project management methods with fellow members, their organization, and academic institutions. In our business, leaders need this knowledge to create and communicate visions to inspire team members to create and execute project plans effectively. Leaders use project management methods to stay on course in accomplishing their vision.

President-Elect - Rose Tyler, PMP

Within HP (formerly EDS) where I am employed, I have participated in a formal Mentoring Program (as a mentor), as well as helping to form an internal women’s networking group (HP Global Women’s Network-Michigan Chapter). Currently my assignment as a Sr. PM is delivery of global voice/data networking infrastructure for a major financial institution.
Since 2000 when I obtained my PMP certification, I have been active in the PMI Great Lakes Chapter as a general member, exhibitor and speaker, as well as active in PMI global. For PMI Women in Project Management SIG I was very much involved in developing the strategic direction for both outreach and education programs working with numerous chapters (global), PMI registered education providers, and industry corporations in executing many of these activities. My volunteerism in PMI also included global activities—specifically the Virtual Communities Project and Virtual Community Advisory Group (VCAG). As a member of that team (which originated in 2007) I worked with both SIG and Chapter leaders, as well as PMI Staff on the initiative for PMI’s virtual community organizational structure and implementation which concluded in 2010. I am also a graduate of the PMI Leadership Masters Class (2008).

VP Administration - Thagu Vivek, MS., MBA., PgMP

Thagu Vivek is currently employed as a Program Manager at DCS, Inc, Troy, Michigan. Managing the entire Data Management Suite of Products and Programs - leading a software development team including new business development, brand development, marketing, customer relations, new products architecture and distribution network initiatives. He has more than 19 years experience in project management and program management areas, with applications ranging from manufacturing, software design, quality control, Engineering services, and Information technology. He received his Program Management (PgMP) certification from Project Management Institute(PMI).He has a masters degree in mechanical engineering from Michigan Technological University and a MBA from Oakland University. He is also a certified Six Sigma Black Belt from American Society of Quality.

VP Communications - Biju Jacob,

|
Biju Jacob is a Project Manager with Ford Motor Company, with over 16 years of experience leading large projects related to automotive, finance and IT. Biju has extensive expertise in operations management, organizational development, program management and solution delivery. Biju has successfully managed diverse and technically strong global teams and is current working on implementing Service Oriented Architecture at Ford Motor Co.
Biju has been actively involved with PMIGLC since 2008, was involved in the designe and build of the existing PMIGLC.org website. Biju has a BE in Computer Science from Bangalore University, India.

VP Finance - Neil Goldman, PMP
|
|
Mr. Goldman, is a PMP certified Project / Program Manager with 30 years of extensive experience interfacing up to the CEO level, managing global projects valued up to 60 million dollars with teams of up to 200 people in Fortune 500 companies in Information Technology. He has held numerous local and global leadership positions within the Project Management Institute (PMI), including Chapter President. In several companies, he was responsible for creating a central Project Management Office (PMO) from scratch or improving existing ones, to increase multiple project performance. He has also has been an instructor at Macomb Community College (Warren, MI), and has been teaching both PMP preparation, as well as Project Management and MS Project classes since 1998.
Neil holds a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration from Lawrence Technological University (Southfield, MI)

VP Membership - Sanjay Kumar, PMP

SanjayKumar has around 25 years of leadership experience in the government, healthcare, finance, IT and automotive sectors. He has a vast global experience and hasworked in various positions such as a programmer, technical leader, projectmanager and Sr. project manager in NIC, ICMR, EDS, Oracle Corporation, IBM, etc.He has successfully managed diverse and technically strong global teams inIndia, Australia and the United States. He has experience in softwaredevelopment, project management, strategic planning, and business processreengineering. Sanjayreceived his PMP certification in 2005 and has been a member of PMI GLC sincethen. Sanjayholds three Masters Degrees - M.Tech in Computer Science from Indian Instituteof Technology (I.I.T) Delhi, Master of Philosophy (M.Phil) in Statistics fromDelhi University, and Master (M.A.) in Statistics from Delhi University. Heis currently working as a senior consultant at Ford Motor Company.

VP Outreach - Lisa Foster,

|
Within HP (formerly EDS) where Lisa is employed, her current assignment is a Sr. Program Manager/EPMO Manager across multiple industries for Product Development in World Wide Industry Software & Services; prior experience was managing an EPMO on HP’s GM account. Lisa is also an adjunct professor in project management at Walsh College.
Lisa is PMP certified, and has been a member of PMI Great Lakes Chapter since 2000. She has participated in several other previous volunteer activities for the Chapter over the years. Lisa’s volunteer leadership also includes the American Association of University Women (AAUW), PMI Women in Project Management SIG, and HP Global Women’s Network-Michigan Chapter (founding member, Co-Chair & Membership Chair).

VP Professional Development - Dennis Calopisis, PMP
|
|
Dennis received his PMP certification in 2003 and has been a member of PMI GLC since then.
He has been a member of the PMI GLC Professional Development team since 2007 and has been the Director of Advanced Topics since 2008. In these role he has planned, developed and taught numerous classes on project management and interpersonal communication skills.
Dennis a graduate of Central Michigan University, having received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration with a MIS major. He received a his MBA from Wayne State University with a concentration in Organizational Behavior.
Dennis has been involved in IT and Project Management for over 17 years with roles at Dow Chemical, EDS, and Hewitt Packed, supporting marketing, logistics, supply chain, Insurance, and Financial projects in the Chemical, Automotive, and Health Care Industries.
