Meet The PMIGLC Executive Committee

President - Neil Goldman, PMP

Mr. Goldman, is a PMP certified Project / Program Manager with 30 years of extensive experience interfacing up to the CEO level, managing global projects valued up to 60 million dollars with teams of up to 200 people in Fortune 500 companies in Information Technology. He has held numerous local and global leadership positions within the Project Management Institute (PMI), including Chapter President. In several companies, he was responsible for creating a central Project Management Office (PMO) from scratch or improving existing ones, to increase multiple project performance. He has also has been an instructor at Macomb Community College (Warren, MI), and has been teaching both PMP preparation, as well as Project Management and MS Project classes since 1998.

Neil holds a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration from Lawrence Technological University (Southfield, MI)

Past President - Surya Prakash, PMP

Surya is a Senior Project Manager with Ally Financial Inc.  He has extensive Project Management experience with companies such as KPMG Consulting, PriceWaterhouse Coopers.  He has implemented ERP systems in organizations such as State of Michigan, Oakland County, Compaq (Now part of HP), General Motors etc.  Surya has been an avid volunteer with PMI GLC since 2007.  He got his PMI certification in 2005.  He received his Engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering from National Institute of Technology, Karnataka, India

President-Elect - Lisa Foster, PMP, MBA, CSM

Lisa Foster is the Health & Human Services Practice Principal at Hewlett Packard leading a dynamic and innovative delivery team that is part of HP’s State, Local and Education Division. In addition to her responsibilities at HP, Lisa is also an adjunct assistant professor at Walsh College where she teaches project management skills for the master’s and certificate programs.
 
Lisa has been a member of PMIGLC since 2000 and an active board member since 2010. Lisa is passionate about teaching, coaching and mentoring aspiring project leaders. She has assisted in development and has taught the PM 101-Skills for Life program, she often speaks at various chapter meetings on a number of topics including leadership, project management and Agile projects.

VP Administration - Thagu Vivek, MS., MBA., PgMP

Thagu Vivek is currently employed as a Program Manager at DCS, Inc, Troy, Michigan. Managing the entire Data Management Suite of Products and Programs - leading a software development team including new business development, brand development, marketing, customer relations, new products architecture and distribution network initiatives. He has more than 19 years experience in project management and program management areas, with applications ranging from manufacturing, software design, quality control, Engineering services, and Information technology. He received his Program Management (PgMP) certification from Project Management Institute(PMI).He has a masters degree in mechanical engineering from Michigan Technological University and a MBA from Oakland University. He is also a certified Six Sigma Black Belt from American Society of Quality.

VP Communications - Sean McConnell, PMP

Sean is currently the Director of Information Technology at AP Plasman Inc.   He has spent 18 years in the Automotive Industry split between Canada and the USA, working mostly for Textron Inc. as Vice President of Information Technology.  Sean has started and led new IT Organizations and numerous project implementations across North America and Europe.  He has worked in the retail industry, leading an ERP selection / implementation project as IT Director of N. Tepperman’s LTD.  Sean joined PMI GLC and became PMP Certified in 2008.   Sean is Six Sigma Green Belt and Black Belt certified, ITIL certified and received a BA from the University of Windsor (Ontario) in 1993.

VP Finance - Gil Rollins, PMP

Gilbert (Gil) Rollins was a Managing Consultant with EDS, retiring at the beginning of 2005. He has over 30 years of project management experience ranging from one location, privately held to multi-billion, multinational firms. Gil has been an active member of PMI/GLC/ISSIG since 1996, working on membership surveys and 3 years on Membership Committee. He was the VP of Membership for two years and Director of Finance Operations. Gil has a BS/ME - Kettering University, Flint, MI (formerly General Motors Institute).

VP Membership - Ron Papa, PMP, PhD

Ronald Papa is a Vice President and Operational Risk Manager at Comerica Bank in Auburn Hills.  He has been a proud member of PMIGLC since obtaining his PMP certification in 2007. Ron has served on Comerica’s Association of Project Professionals (C.A.P.P.) as their Chairman and past Director of Membership and Community Involvement since 2008. 

Ron completed his PhD in Management Information Systems from Walden University in 2013. He has also been an adjunct instructor at Baker College in Auburn Hills since 2011.  In addition, Ron holds a Master’s Degree in Finance from Walsh College and a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications from Oakland University.

VP Outreach - Rose Tyler, PMP

Since 2000 when I obtained my PMP certification, I have been active in the PMI Great Lakes Chapter as a general member, exhibitor and speaker, as well as active in PMI global volunteer leadership. For PMI Women in Project Management SIG I was very much involved in developing the strategic direction for both outreach and education programs working with numerous chapters (global), PMI registered education providers, and industry corporations.  I am also a graduate of the PMI Leadership Masters Class (2008).  Learn more about me at Linkedin.com.

VP Professional Development - William Moylan, PhD, PMP, FESD

William A. Moylan, PhD, PMP, FESD, DTM, is an Associate Professor of Eastern Michigan University's College of Technology and coordinates the construction management graduate programs.  In addition, he consultants, trains, and acts as an expert witness in project management and construction safety.   Dr. Bill Moylan has extensive profession experience in all aspects of program and project management.   He has worked on new product development, manufacturing, information systems, facility engineering, and construction projects within the heavy construction, oil & gas production, petroleum, chemical processing, energy, academic, government, public service, automotive, and manufacturing industries.  In June 2005, Dr. Moylan was awarded his PhD in Organization & Management with focus in Leadership from the Capella University School of Business.   He received his BS in Construction Engineering from Lawrence Technological University; and, his Masters from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.  Dr. Bill is active in a variety of professional societies and civic activities, including the Project Management Institute, the Engineering Society of Detroit, Habitat for Humanity, and , Toastmasters International.   Within PMI, Dr. Bill has served on the PMI Board of Directors [2008-2013], Educational Foundation Board, Certification Board Center, PMP Certification Exam Committee, Assembly of SIG Chairs, several SIG and Chapter board, and, advisor to PMI Students groups at Lawrence Tech University and Eastern Michigan University.   In September 2000, PMI honored him with their 2000 Distinguished Contribution Award.  In October 2004, the PMI-Foundation awarded Bill the PMI-Fellows scholarship in support of his PhD scholarly activity.

VP MARKETING - Kent Potts,

Kent Potts, PMP, is Manager of Industrialization for Meritor, Commercial Vehicle Systems,
a tier-1, global manufacturer of automotive components and integrated systems. He has also
held various leadership, engineering, quality, and consulting positions within multiple locations
of Meritor, AlliedSignal Automotive, Yale Materials Handling Corp., and Dover Corp. Kent
has lead multinational programs – most recently in China and Mexico. He has two US patents
pending for manufacturing process equipment designs. Kent holds both Master of Engineering
and BSIE degrees from North Carolina State University in Raleigh, NC. He has practiced with
PMP certification from Project Management Institute, Inc. since 2003. Kent has been published
in Computers and Industrial Engineering, and he has spoken at several engineering and project
management events.
