Speaker Biography
Andrew Makar is an IT program manager, writer, instructor and lecturer on effective project and program management techniques. His practical project management advice and tactical techniques can be found at http://www.tacticalprojectmanagement.com.
Dr. Makar is also adjunct professor for Lawrence Technological University and Davenport University. In September 2009, he was nominated to lead Project Management Institute’s HR Virtual Communities of Practice initiative. When he isn't working, writing, or following the latest social media trend, he's found playing with his kids and learning the occasional magic trick or two.

DoD Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO); PMP; PRINCE2 Registered Practitioner 36 years in IT industry as software engineer, systems architect, consultant, line manager, project & program manager, executive and consultant. Worked for Digital Equipment Corp, Litton- PRC, Booz- Allen & Hamilton, and Concurrent Technologies Corp. before forming Ascenris. Ascenris is a risk management and information assurance consultancy that builds and implements ISO27000 compliant Information Security Management Systems (ISMSs).
