Corporate Outreach Program

 

MISSION & OBJECTIVES

The PMI Great Lakes Chapter (GLC) Corporate Outreach Program is the liaison between PMI and the companies located in the Chapter’s geographic area. PMI GLC Corporate Outreach utilizes Needs Analysis Interviews with corporate representatives who have responsibility for implementing and leading project/program management in their companies help determine relevant issues. GLC Corporate Outreach has two tracks (focus areas):

Track 1 - Corporate Roundtables

Corporate Roundtables are facilitated discussions between project management leaders from local corporations.  Rotating corporate host presenters select pertinent topics on their challenges and successes and then share that information with their corporate peers.  More than twenty roundtables have been conducted since September 2002.

  • Corporate Roundtable - June 30th - Eaton Corp. - Topic: "Growing Project Management Maturity"
  • Corporate Roundtable - March 31st - Johnson Controls, Inc. - Topic: "Managing Global Programs"
  • Corporate Roundtable - December 1st - Meritor Corp., "Program Management and Product Development"

Track 2 - Affiliates & Partners

Affiliates &Partners is our program to establish reciprocal agreements between PMI Great Lakes chapter and non-profit professional organizations for the mutual benefit of each membership and/or audience. Participating partners are in a position to enhance the products and services that they offer through joint advertising and support for each other's endeavors such as professional development seminars, trade fairs, job fairs, etc.  Visit our Affiliates' websites (listed on the Affiliates webpage) to see their current offerings and event schedules.

2011 Initiatives

  • Proposed PMO Services - joint initiative with GLC Academic Outreach to support ESD 2011/2012 Future City & SMArT Competition programs
